The union's governance runs through four connected levels, each with elected leaders accountable to the members they serve.
School / Institution
Mwalimu Mwakilishi
The School Representative (SR) is the union leader at the school or institution level, the first point of contact for members.
District
Tawi (Branch)
Branches bring together all schools and institutions within a government district, led by branch committees and secretaries.
Zone
Kanda (Zone)
Zonal leadership coordinates branches across the Unguja and Pemba zones, linking the grassroots to the national level.
National
National Leadership
The National Executive Committee, General Council, and National General Meeting — led by the President, Vice President, and General Secretary — set the union’s direction.
